Hackability is a new way to co design and create products for people with disabilities.
Very often disabled people make their own electronic devices. Hackability will bring together makers and people with disabilities to design and co-produce devices for disabled persons. The project has a double aim: on one hand conceptualising, making and selling low budget customised devices for disability; on the other hand, sharing patterns, equipment and skills using the logic of open access. The ultimate aim is to use the ‘digital artisan’ movement to meet disabled people’s needs for cheap electronic devices.
